We recently received a group of these, rarely bred but we have high hopes for the group we have.

at least they are easy to sex as adults !!

These are awesome lizards.

All the best with them Jon..what is the reasons for them being rarely bred, are they difficult or just not that popular?

Gorgeous lizards Jon best of luck with them. Do you think they will be ok with the high humidity though?

Stuart, they are rarely bred because there's not many in the right hands. They were plentiful many years back so like most things no-one bred them, then the export stopped and they slowly disappeared Sad

The sungazers are a poorly understood lizard, and with very few captive breedings many of which are put down to one off luck, or animals coming in gravid.

I hope the setup here will keep the humidity at a good enough level for them to thrive,

As scott said their numbers are dwindling in captivity and few people worked to breed them as they were so cheap to import (not cheap anymore or available....)

They are a great lizard, very small as adults, very tame and very active during the day.

Thanks for the comments, I'm quite excited about this project !!
