Great fish Stuart, how many did you get? Have you kept them before?
I was actually toying with the idea of getting a half dozen to grow up as they have such great characters it would be fun and maybe get a pair out of it at the end.
Tigers are my favourite, i don't much like the albinos and even less the fact that I have seen long finned painted albinos on sale in shops recently... barbaric putting a fish through that process!
also interested in your substrate, what is it that you have used?
cheers

Cheers Colin I did only get a pair..but was toying with a small group for the reason you say..to hopefully get a pair at the end but decided on just the two..just have to see how they get on.I have kept them before so realise how messy they can be!!lol..I have two large eheim pro external filters on the tank which does a good job and regular water changes too.The black gravel is just a very fine grade..TBH just fancied a change and got some normal and put it on the top..that was after a week of cleaning the black gravel... I used to have an albino also but not really my favourite..the red tigers have always been my favourites.. |

certainly bright red Stu! Nice fish, I'm sure I can find a home for them in my tank _________________

Ah, i was wondering if you had put in a substrate for plants.
I am about to set up a tank 36x22x24 for my angelfish because the Uarus are getting big and hassling them a bit. I am going to plant it quite heavily and light it with T5 bulbs and was wondering if you were using a special substrate.
I am actually toying with just using some soil which is free from fertiliser and pesticide etc and burying it with small gravel or play sand from B&Q
PS I think that the Oscars would kill the crocs... Their spines would stick in the crocs throat! |
