Hi Lynne
You dont say exactly what the problem is. I have run several heat strips off the one thermostat with no problem. I always put some folded paper under the probe and tape it down onto the heat strip. The reason for the paper is to take the place of the bottom of the box i keep the snakes etc in. Otherwise the probe, being directly on the heatstrip constantly turns it off before temps are reached in the box. Hope this helps |

Do you mean that one end of the strip is heating and not the other end, or the actual enclosure??
I've used strips aswell with no problems on stats, either laid flat or stood up. _________________ www.ratsnakefoundation.org |

I use strips aswell and never have this problem, so guessing it must be your heat strip at fault _________________ 1.7.7 Royal Python

the first two feet of the heat strip is heating, the second two feet isnt. this is the second 4ft mat i have used and both were doing the same. i have had to put two heat mats on the back of the two tubs at end that isnt heating!!! johonny who flung you a banana? _________________

Lynne i have had the same before either change the mat or do as jon-g said as this is also ture unless you are using a mat stat then that would be normally suited to the mat |
