I'm new here so I thought I would share some pics of the local black iggys where I was working this summer (Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, Mexico). Enjoy!

Big Eddie

This little one slept in the hole in the wall next to my bed every night Very Happy

Cheers

Kate

Conservation work for a few months. Surveying the reef which got a bit interupted by hurricanes Dean and Felix, but more so Dean, grrr! It was cool, tonnes of geckos and iggys and snakes although never saw the resident boa Sad

Tonnes of awesome fish and turtles too, no sharks but lots of rays and a spoted eagle ray, wish i had got a pic of that! Happy days....

I went with Global Vision International. We got evacuated for Dean and put in a community hurricane shelter further north. Most of the massive palm trees had been ripped up and thrown like 100m down the beach, and I'm talking BIG palm trees.

We spent 3 days digging 1.5 metres of sand out of the huts. Backbreaking. Then we had to put everything back together......blah blah. We got pretty bad storms of the back of Felix but nothing like Dean.

Interesting to say the least!
