I suspected my female macraei was getting ready to cycle, due to her feeding patterns and social interactions with the male, over the past week or two. After six clutches of eggs from this pair, I am starting to get a good "feel" and understanding of them, as far as cycling and copulation goes. My V. beccarii and V. boehmei on the other hand... I'm still trying to figure them out.

Here are some photos I snapped a couple of minutes ago. Sorry for the lousy quality, but that particular enclosure doesn't have the best lighting situation, and I am very rarely able to snap some decent photos in there..

Cheers my fellow varanid enthusiasts..

Bob

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately, my failures with monitor eggs( I sure have received plenty of them!) occur within the last few days/hours of incubation. Hopefully I will correct this problem that I continue to see.

Speaking of successful tree monitor hatchings, my pal Rob over by you guys in the UK, just hatched out a gorgeous baby V. prasinus. I hope I will someday see the same success... haha.. in due time, i suppose..

Cheers folks,

Bob
