A good idea or not?
just thinking out loud. . . . .
I have always used spot lamps so have dimming thermostats fitted throughout.
I use ceramic light fixtures so at to cope with potentially high temps.
so i'm wondering if using ceramic heaters with dimming stats would be ok?!
anyone do this? or perhaps use thermostats for other heat sources other than there designed purpose? _________________ best of luck in the new season |

Ceramics are fine on dimmers. You can use pulse proportionals or dimmers. The advantage of using dimmers is you can step back to using spot lights if you want to change. |

Dimming stats will work on a ceramic but pulse stats are made specifically for ceramics and so the ceramic will in theory last a lot longer _________________ People laugh at me because I am different

Both the Dimmer and the Pulse will extend ceramics life by the fact that the heater should be running all the time, albeit at a lower temperature.
Starting heating elements up from cold all the time can reduce their lifespan. |

think i may try one to start with with a view to change all.
just getting a little peed off with unreliable bulbs claiming "low light emitting night spot"
yeah right!! put one in the other day to replace a blown bulb and the thing is brighter than the sun!!!! (ok well not quite but you know what i mean)
cheers
