Has anyone ever bred snake neck turtles? I have two and I think they're male and female. I seem to recall reading something awhile ago saying that it's a good idea to try breeding turtles if kept as pets as their numbers are diminishing. Not sure if this is true for all turtles. They're probably about 2 years old now so I expect it would be awhile before they start breeding if they ever do. I was wondering if they need a sandy land area to lay their eggs in or if they just lay them in the water. If anyone has any helpful tips for getting them to breed I'd be interested to hear them. I expect there aren't many people that have bred these turtles though as I'd never heard of them until I bought some. Breeding them might be similar to other turtles though. |
