dont think you would have any problems with aggression etc until they reach maturity its very very hard (near impossible) to sex juvenile iguanas if you go and get another one then couple of years time they turn out to be 2 males then prepare for a holocaust.housing two adult iggys can be a problem but as long as you can give them sufficient habitat space and proper husbandry requirements then your laughing with time and care and understanding then you will spend the next 10-15 years enjoying a amazing species of lizard if a bit miss understood.i house my pair of iguanas in a 10ft long by 8ft high and 4ft deep enclosure with multiple basking spots and heated pond.....one more thing cant stress this enough .do as much research as possible read as much as possible. hope i managed to help.

I started with 2 babies years ago and of course they ended up being 2 males. As they grew they ended up with their own habitat. I only have one left, he is 14 years old now. I had a female for 8 years before she mated with my male I still have. Not a good result. After mating she was not interested and he became a total jerk. They fought alot so I had too separate them. She laid 42 eggs and died a few weeks later, having not recovered from the weight lose of eggs production.
Here is a current pic of my me, my youngest son, and Iggy.

Just one thing I'd like to say is

MAKE sure you get a rescue iggy, if yours is very young and you can't find one young enough then wait.
DO NOT pay any petshop for an iggy. There are so many in centers and some are having to be put down as no room for them.

Sorry to sound harsh but Iggies are fantastic animals if you have the time for them but too many people are sold them with no idea and then get rid of them. There are plenty of rescues out there, even if it may take some time to locate the right one.

They can be probed much like a snake to find out what they are, though I shouldn't think many people have experience of this and so I wouldn't really trust many to do it. With my very young rescue then I've just waited, I'm now thinking its a def male but don't ever trust anyone who tells you until it gets big and so bloody obvious what it is.

Mike

P.S. If you haven't a;ready got it then get this book
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Green-Iguana-Ultimate-Owners-Manual/dp/1883463505/ref=sr_1_1/203-4132942-6446316?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1175106454&sr=8-1
It's probably the best book around for them, more like a bible for an iggy owner
