never experienced anything like that myself Stuart - mine was skatty no matter what colour i wore! though as he grew he did calm down a lot.

tiger shovelnose cats are awesome fish but never seen one for sale myself - have a feeling they are very pricey too - exactly which species are you talking about? see plenty of the sorubim lima shovelnoses though and they are still nice fish, not too expensive either.

Cool Hi Keiron..Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum is what I had in mind..they are available and range from £50 upwards for youngsters..
The aro is quite calm apart from this episode today..lol trying to get him to hand feed too at the moment but will take time and patience I know..

He's a stunner Stuart!! Very Happy

We had an arowana at the shop who was almost 2ft.... he was stunning and so lovely! He was called Harry! Laughing

He was in a 4ft cubed tank and was next to the counter. He was fed on livefoods, frozen lancefish and cockles etc and pellet food. He loved his lancefish and as you walked up with his box he would stay near you and then as you walked to the feeding hatch he would be waiting!

He was sold to the restaurant 2 doors down to go in a 5x3 tank and as far as i know is still doing well!! (I've moved now!)

Just thought I'd share!!!

Upped the temps a bit and started a course of protozyne so should be all gone soon..Can just make it out in these pics

I find protozyn the best treatment out there..always up the temps as this shortens the lifecycle of the whitespot.and make sure you have no carbon in the filters as this will remove the treatment from the water.
Obviously check your water parameters as well to make sure everything is as should be..Even done mine just in case but were all good..nitrites 0,amonia 0 and nitrate 10..mind you my tank has enough filtration to cope with almost double the amount of water it holds.

Sounds like you have played safe all round Stu. Definately worth the little extra effort as you are finding now. Wink
