Thanks all!
Robbieg
I keep mine in a custom enclosure measuring 8'L, 3'W, 8'H.
18" of moist sandy dirt, very hot, very humid!
I change their water twice daily and spray the enclosure down daily...sometimes twice daily!
I feed mine mainly Rodents and Roaches with some mussels, crab, shrimps and squid from time to time.
This was my second clutch of three, I hatched one clutch in the 90's.
I have two unrelated pair and 3 hatchlings.
If you have anymore questions just ask, I'll help if I can.

Hi Mike.
Is that a bath tub for the base ? Seen that idea used a few times over the years, makes a great waterproof base and also helps drainage. |

No it's a horse trough. It also works great for holding moist dirt.
I used to use one piece shower stall and bathtub units like these.
Sorry for the poor quality these are photos of photos.
a one piece bathtub unit
Another one piece bathtub unit
You have to tilt your head to the left to see this one piece shower stall enclosure.
The bottoms of the top one (Beccari) and the last one (Prasinus) are just water...no substrate. I used these back in the early 90's.

hi mike I'm looking to breed my prasinus this year maybe next year, i was wondering if it is best to separate them first then introduce them back, would this make for a more successful breeding?? _________________ Word ta big bird!! |

While I have never had problem separating them and reintroducing them, I have also never had a problem housing the together 24/7 365 either.
When I saw the aggressive nest guarding of the females post laying I never separated them.
Keeping them together 24/7 ensures you'll never miss a cycle.
