just to let you know breeding Manx or tailess, often results in the animals spine being to short and thus the hips fusing together or twisted spines, or poor nervous systems leading to problems with organsm, also the rats tail is vital to heat loss, which is why its bold, so on a warm day, the rats is prone to heat exhauston. Just my two pence.

I thought it may of been chewed off etc but it's clean and unscarred, definately born like it.
Anyway, he will be added to my freaky rat breeding projects...ie the bald rats (these have all now produced young with thick 'rex' type hair, they were all mated with normal hooded rats). |
I had one of those about 5 year back a local lady said she loved rats for there intelligence'ect she just could't get pasted the tail it made her scerm and when my little tailless one came along.Well there was no exscuse was there well she loved him he made it just pasted 3 years of age with her so i gather a good life.I never got a nother one with the parents of him so maybe more likely bittern of tail than a genetic tailless. He was named stumpy.
So there's your market scott people that love rats but not there tails . |

Yep Gazz, that's exactly what I was thinking. Basically it will be like a big tame friendly hamster that doesn't bite and is alot more intelligent. _________________
