There was a degree of artistic license used in my post Wink A good amount of red/orange fluid did come out of the cricket as it was eaten by the mantis, but this was food, not blood. Wink

Open up the stomach of a cricket thats been eating blackberries = red/black mess.
Not making there own blood may have been a bit rash but some predatory beetles do use the blood of their victims for all the same reasons. Smile
