WHY are you getting fruitflys in with your crickets ??????
Could it be that someone is foolishly using friut for their crickets 
To get rid of fruitfly ... dont feed them 
For moisture for crickets use a jar lid with a few mm of water or even use a piece of carrot which FF dont eat and doesnt go mouldy like potato
Carrot is the way to go 
My cricket containers, I got through a few thousand a week in these containers. Notice the peanut jar lids ... one for water, one for flake food and the substrate is porridge oats. It smells nice and they eat it
In the pic the containers are almost empty ready to be re-filled

Wicked, cheers for the pic too! Yes, Iv been putting fruit and veg peelings in for food!!!  Think in future, Ill just go for carrot, as well as cereals and fish food! Any other dry foods I could try?

As dry food doesnt smell ... take your choice. It will depend on how many crickets you have. Very cheap cerial based pond pellets are a fav of mine.

My poor dog followed my with a smile on his chops earlier, as I walked to the rep room, with a handful of dog biscuits, only to put them in the crix tank!!! Poor doggy! Currently feeding them with cereals, cracked wheat, dog biscuits, fish food and carrot, and Iv got no fruit flies!!!!Woohoo!!
