burying beetles (Nicrophorus vespilloides. I have experimental stock of about 2500 individuals, each getting fed 2 mealworms twice a week (pain in the arse, as they are all housed individually).
they need to be a pretty decent size as well, like, almost at the point of pupation....
the more I think about this the less it seems like a viable option.....  |

I'd say for the cost of what normal mealworms are, I wouldn't bother breeding them  _________________

yeah, it's a fair point. I was just musing over efficiency in the lab, I've already ruled out breeding our own mice (way too much time/money/space, and I don't think I could kill them ) but thought the mealworms might be worth a shot. meh.... |
