My viv currently 3'x1'x1' for two 8" beardies which is plenty of room at mo cos have 3-4 basking spots for em so no arguments, will be going to a 4'x2'x2' once we move into new house (bout a month or so).
Currently keep cool end of viv at 20-25 degrees C day and 20 at night (use 12"x12" heat mat at night as house is cold), for hot end about 30-35 degrees C during day (currently using a 60 watt spot bulb). Light cycle is currently 10 hours as its winter, will step up to 12 spring, 14 summer and down to 12 autumn. Use an 18" reptiglo for uv which is set bout 8-10 inch above floor and is on same light cycle as spot bulb.
This is just what I find works for me, others may disagree or vary in their advice. Your best bet is to listen to different folks and read up all you can in the books and on the net then bring it together in your situation and find what will work best for you. If you want anymore info just give me a shout and good luck with whichever critters you choose, they're all fun and fascinating. |
