we had one the other day, and a guy on the street has a petrol generator and i thought that would be great. But i thought maybe some people with extensive collections or sensitive species might already have one of sorts. Just wonder what people do. We had one powercut that lasted 3 days a couple of years ago, and with weather getting more and more unpredictable... would sure help for peace of mind with the animals

Good point espcially if you have loads of eggs incubating. Also good for insurance purposes if you have a back up system.

I don't, unless the power is going to be out for more than 12 hours I wouldn't worry too much.

How long was your power off in the end Stu?

I would however get a good generator if I lived in a more rural location Wink

There has been a number of areas in Kent that have been without power for over 3 days, Apparently there are 17 houses still without power, that'll be more than 5 days. Shocked

We had one in NJ but they get more freak westher out there than we do here... some winters we could be with out power for a few days, so with the food the baby and frogs we needed something to keep us going.
