Noticed what appears to be an egg case protruding from the back end of a roach. Will the egg case be ejected and left behind for the offspring to hatch out later or will it be retracted back into the female and incubated.

Lobster roaches are live bearers. The tube you see is the oviposter, birthing tube. Well thats what I always thought anyway. But thye are deffo 100% live bearers.

I wasn't sure if this sack was deposited somewhere and the offspring ate there way out Confused or whether the female wondered around spitting them out.

As far as I am aware they just pop out all alive and ready to go no eggs involved. The female as you have noted can be seen to extend the birth tube from time to time. A yellow cream colour tube oval in shape and about 5mm in length.

Please if I have got this wrong tell me as I am keen to find out.

Right I took all the cardboard out of one of my roach tubs just now to find a fem Laughing ale with tube out to take a pic off, grrrrrrrrr not one doing it! Typical anyway here are soem pics enjoy! Note: they dont climb past the vaseline barrier! at top of tub. As shown in pics rr6-rr8

Interesting thanks for that. They do give birth to live then according to the article and hatch the eggs out internally. Most odd but hay herps luv em.
