Ok now have the lobster roaches starter colony, to prevent them from escaping tank rather than using Vaseline can I just use some fine gauge charcoal fibre glass mesh under the snap on tank lid to prevent them escaping or will they chew through this? Thanks Rick _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

tbh I can't really visualise what you mean but just bare in mind that they will be crawling all over the underside of the lid when you open it, unless you use vaseline. Also, they are so fast that once the lid is off, they will be up the sides and out in the time it takes you to add food etc. I think you need the vaseline...

Ok will use vaseline, the tank thing was, cover top of tank with the mesh then place lid over mesh and snap down to clip it on. so base up, tank, mesh, lid.

Forgot to ask, won't they just get stuck in the sticky Vaseline? Then it will all become a mess of sticky roaches? _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

No, when they run up to it, they just turn back.

Housing for Lobsters all set up, all greased up three inch band round the rim of the tank. So shall wait and see what happens. Found a REASONABLE CARE SHEET, have posted it in care sheet section.
Can anyone please tell me if the Roaches need any egg laying medium, whether the eggs need to be incubated and whether the young can be kept with the adults, please. The care sheet did not give this depth of detail. Thanks.
