|
|
I was feeding the chams earlier. I noticed my young male Nosy B blue's rectum was showing, it popped back in within a few seconds. I can only assume he was trying to have a pooh or had just had one. He appears content and not ill in any obvious way.
It was bright red, not swollen, but was showing outside of his anal opening, sorry to be so detailed but is the best way to explain.
I have been keeping an eye on him and he has not done this again yet.
Does anyone have any ideas please? _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

When it retracted, did it go towards the tip of the tail,or towards the stomach.
Some of my males are prone to showing there Hampton on occasions.
Just glad to see me i reckon. |

PMSL. Thats a good question, I am not sure which way it returned, just glad it did. He is only a few months old about 3 or 4. If that. If it was his do da it was a funny shape! I must admit I had not considered it being his hampton! Automatically thought of what might be wrong!

Am I right in thinking they two hamptons? Why have two? Surley they don't use both at the same time? The mind boggles! _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

my guess is that mating in reptiles is quite a risky thing to by doing, especially for certain species, so by having two you get the chance to reproduce another day if something goes wrong.
I had a Cali king that couldn't withdraw it's hemipenis so I had to 'remove' one. The lucky fella went on and mated the following year without problems. _________________

And I'm sure the Cali King has learned his lesson about withdrawing or else... I can't even think of it. The poor think would... OUCH |

I read somewhere that they have two so they can go from either side so to speak. Might be rubbish though but does seem beautifully practical! |
