Im having a practice with raw but im finding it hard to convert with out making the pictures look false

Not too bad Steve..up the iso to maybe 200 and should get a slightly faster shutter speed..first one looks a little soft and out of focus...second one is better..that sure is a tasty looking jungle!
As they were shot in raw have a play with exposure and see what that does.. _________________

Thanks Stu now the weather may start to get a little warmer i will be practicing a lot more out side (if it stops snowing that is )

I find RAW a total buggering pain in the arse to use to be honest... ok its great for playing around with but not being able to preview is a total arsebiscuit, I take hundreds of pictures for festivals and parties and use raw for the flexible after affects but it still does my head in not being able to preview in windows explorer!
only preview plug ins I have found cost more than second hand kidneys |

Why are u using windows explorer and not a photo program?
I use nikon view Nx and its superb.
I now only ever use raw unless I'm just taking "snaps" for work.
As for Steves images they both look soft or off focus _________________ Live for today as your dead for a long long time
Using Nikon D300's and pro lenses |

I use nx and mostly nikon capture..open any raw file in this software and it can be viewed like most raw converters _________________
