Do you both use the same ISP?

IIRC you live a fair old distance apart but if you both use the same ISP then in theory you could connect to the same server which would create the illusion that you are roughly the same to the site if a specific IP group has been banned.

If your not the using the same ISP then your not being denied access for being banned, or atleast not both for the same reason.
