Cause I am cruel and insist upon it
No seriously she has a mild eye irritation, maybe from a squabble, the eyes are clear and no detritus, and weeping a bit to self cleanse so all looks good at the moment. so I am using a general eye lubricant (lactilube) if that does not work in a few days I will obtain some topical antibiotics to apply. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Rick my gliders go nuts for grapes to. As soon as I open the cage they are up and down my arm, stealing food before its even in the cage.
I've cut down on the amount im giving them though as they will just eat and eat until nothings left. As a result they are both a bit porky now
excuse the poor quality

Grapes should be fed sparingly as they're mainly water. There's also some issues with grapes killing parrots and dogs (!) due to possible toxic mold inside the grapes.
Having said that, they're great for keeping a suggie hydrated when carrying them around and they contain antioxidants Just make sure they're thoroughly washed and either seedless or the seeds are removed ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

marie do you have any tips for getting my gliders weight down?
I dont know how much they actually weigh as I dont have scales but they are visibly plump
They get a mixture of grapes, passionfruit, mango, papaya, pear, apple, figs, melon, Iams cat biscuits. What they have depends on what I get from the shop.
I'm giving them less each night now and they both spend plenty of time in the wheel and running about the place so I know they are getting excercise. |

I feed a heaped tea spoon (which equates to about 1 tablespoon) of fruit/veg mush and 5 or 6 iams biscuits OR 1/4 of an egg each per night.
Do you have a wheel? Wheels are good exercise for suggies, plenty to climb on, and maybe consider substituting some of the fruit in the diet for veggies, green beans, butternut squash or sweet potato go down well with my lot, also sugar snap peas but they have a crap ca:p ratio so limit them!
Edit: Oh yes, you mentioned the wheel , in that case do they get much of out of cage time? |
