I have been offered some gliders and have done lots of reading up on them. Before indulging I need to ensure I have the correct set up. Can anyone advise a specific suitable cage for them. I have read as a minimum a 4ft x2x2 cage is required but where from and what make etc. Any help appreciated thank you. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Dude,
PM Quicksilver on here - he's a mate of mine and has sugar gliders - the only person in Jersey to have some! Had them specially imported, and they're BEAUTIFUL.
I'm sure he'll be able to lend some advice

Yes, i'd also recommend the Ferplast indoor aviaries!
Not kept sugar gliders myself (but had a look into them a little while ago)...
I've kept rats in the Ferplast aviaries (I have a Rondo - tall, hexagonal one, but the Mito is also good one, as is the large Brio) and they are pretty easy to clean out and have good access.
The base is a slide out tray which I found was easy to empty and disinfect, although the shallow base did mean that I could only have a thin layer of substrate (though probably not a problem with sugar gliders, seeing as they'd rarely be on the floor). _________________ Sophie

one of my gliders has made a nest inside a reptile rock/cave type hide I put in there. Its quite funny watching her gathering substrate for her nest |

we bought this cage for our pair of gliders |
Right after a bit of messing about I got the cage as per the link. My local store does not do them as thye don't concentrate on birds! So I had to go to another Pets at Home about 20 miles away. Madness.
So have got the basic set up done this afternoon just need to add a couple more bits but dont want to clutter it up. I thought cob granules for substrate, any advice appreciated. Pics of other folks set ups would be great, thanks. Those Mito aviaries are huge _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk
