Well the weather is picking up so deliveries are now starting to come in, here's a few Fire Salamanders that came in this morning:

Central Spanish Fire Salamander (Salamandra salamandra almanzoris) Sierra de Gredos, Spain

Portuguese Fire Salamander (Salamandra salamandra gallaica) Pontevedra, Portugal

Portuguese Fire Salamander (Salamandra salamandra gallaica) Sintra, Portugal

Hispanic Fire Salamander (Salamandra salamandra hispanica) Barcelona, Spain

They are between 6cm & 14cm - well grown on considering some are <2cm when born.

Another all time hobby clasic species. My favourite are S.s.gigliolii. Do you ever have any Andrew?

Keeping fire salamanders of various sorts outside has always appealed to me.

Yep, fire salamanders have to be my favourite european amphibian.The only Salamanders I've kept have been Tigers.

Unfortunatly no S.s.giglioli at this moment in time but both juveniles and adults have been available fairly frequently over the last couple of years.
