I got a box of crickets today from the local reptile shop and we've counted 10 crickets in it, we would have got another box but it was the last one in and we really needed crickets.

Since I got my lizards there has always been a reptile shop close by, but I'm pretty sure someone I know used to get them online before the reptile shop opened. I just wondered if this was true, you could get them online. If so, what are people's experiences of that (Should you have done it).

Thanks,

Tom

Tom,

I have always had great supplies from livefood.co.uk, their cricket boxes have always been full to the brim.

If you have a lot of mouths to feed then it's a great idea. The crickets arrive far fresher than shop bought ones, and last longer in my experience.

The shops often get them from suppliers online, but they rarely feed them, so by the time you buy them they are not in great nick. It's also better value for money to buy them direct.

Rick on here sells all sorts of livefoods by post at reasonable prices. Wink

Thanks for all the quick replies.

I've had a quick look on the Livefoods website and about the crickets and some of the sizes are measured in 'Instar'. What does this mean? And what size would be reccomended for a fully grown crested gecko (About an inch between the eyes)

Thanks,

Tom

There should be a size guide at the top of the page on livefoods.

I have tried Livefoods, Live foods by post, and Camzoo all have been good. I would defiantly get some of rick.

Before i started ordering online i would find out what day the local pet shop got there livefoods in and stock up, if they ever tried to fob me off with last weeks order i would insist on a fresh box.

Well I really needed crickets, so I bought 3 boxes from Livefoods.

I placed the order on Tuesday Night (About 11PM) and it came on Thursday morning, full with healthy looking crickets, not a dead one in any of the boxes.

Great Service, would definately reccomend if anyone is thinking of buying crickets online.
