I'm so glad I saw the banner -after- I'd had my lunch.
I also think it's disgusting that a major supermarket like themselves has anything to do with this at all. _________________

The banner is more noticeable now, just hope Tesco don't come knocking.
First i had heard of this was this morning, makes me sick. I can understand why people from around the world would have different judgements on this point, but TESCO is a UK company.
This is something we do not wish to see in the UK

I don't use Tesco anymore because of this. I signed a petition against it a few months ago. _________________

Where are the turtles coming from?
There are farms out there that breed turtles for that purpose...
I know this thread is less than a year old, but I just thought people might be doing it for the wrong reason. |

Not sure if they are farmed or wildcaught but either way, there general for the species they sell is disgusting and immoral, and am suprised that the company would go this low. Then again if you look at the overall affect of supermarkets on the world, it is not good, both for the environment nor for the people in poorer countries (not just tesco). I can't really fathom the entire negative affect these "super-food chains" have. Everything has impacts ... just look at what a harmless BLT you buy for your lunch does to the world, its a bit of a read but you'll soon get the idea... http://www.theecologist.org/archive_detail.asp?content_id=622 |
