i think my corn snake is getting ready to shed , his eyes have gone cloudy which im told this is a sign, he has water and a log as i guess he can use this to help him remove his skin...im not sure if to feed him though as im due to feed him on tuesday, might try it and see.

I normally wait until they have shed before I feed again, although I do know people that feed whilst the snake is coming upto shed..if the snake is well fed and healthy I see no need to feed them and let them slough without a full belly.

Most snakes won't feed anyway when coming up to a shed, though it doesn't really harm if they do feed. They have to move around anyway so doesn't really make a difference, having said that if its in good condition then a few days without food won't harm it at all.

It tends to only be the greedy stuff that feeds during shed, kings are known for it more than corns and rats (though my radiated rat will hardly ever refuse food)

I have found that many juveniles will feed during the shedding period whereas adults seem less inclined to do so..reason i dont is because on a couple of occasions I have missed the milking up period and fed them as usual only to find that they have started shedding next day and struggled to shift the skin around the bulge in their stomach..
