Hi, I've had my Yemen for six months and noticed this morning that he can't use his tongue properly when eating. He goes to take his food but doesn't seem to be able to fire it out properly and gives up. Pretty sure I've read something about this but cant remember what the problem is. As it's the weekend I'll have to wait until Monday before i can go to the vets so would be grate full for any advice. |

Inability to shoot the tongue out can be the result of an injury to the tongue, an infection or even MBD.
Could you post your husbandry please? If its MBD it might help us figure out why. |

OK...Large heavily planted flexarium with uv tube and reflector on a 12 on 12 off cycle. Heated with a sunglow bulb with a hot spot of 95 and the room temp is about 80 daytime and drops slightly at night. Misted twice a day and fed daily with locusts mainly and mealworms/crickets occasionally. All food is lightly dusted with calypso or nutrobol.
Had thought about MBD myself but tubes are new and food always dusted. We have a decent reptiles vets near us so going to get him in early next week and see what they say. |

What do you gutload the insects with?
How often do you use the calcium dust that has D3 in it? |
