What do u mean with similar? U mean in keeping? Or taxonomy?
Mertens had difficulties to see the different in the Scalaris complex. He described V. scalaris as a subspecies of V. timorensis in the '40s but changed in in the '50s to species status and in the end of the '50s again as a subspecies. Since 1995 it is considered as a species-complex (Bennet) with various 'morphs'. _________________
