I have finally got my little shed ready for reps. But I would like to change the heat source.
The shed is only 6'x6' (so a large viv to some Wink ), it is well insulated and also inside a garage (yes, inside the garage).
I have found that the oil filled radiator is a little overpowered and the built in thermostat is of no use at all, I even suspect it doesn't work.
So, rather than payout for a new Thermostat, I thought I would replace the whole unit for something more suitable.
I have found these panel heaters which at 600x600 (400w) and 600x300 (200w) are nice and compact and low wattage enough to run from a Pulse stat that I have spare.

Any advice or thoughts on the subject welcome.

Those heaters look good, let us know how you get on with them if you do decide to get them.

They will do the job but may take up alot of wall space (depends how much you want to fit into the shed)
What about tubular heaters they are alot smaller and come in a range of sizes, also if you fit the shed out with a lot of vivs you probably wont need any extra room heating anyway. Very Happy

After running the shed overnight and for a day, I am have to say that I can probably get by with a smaller heater, but I am still going to check these out.
The area it would be mounted is 'dead' wall space, so I am not too concerned with wall space, however, I am concerned with floor space.
I do agree that the shed is so small and and well insulated that I probably won't need any other heat source than that already in the vivs.
As it is, three vivs with heat mats and one with a spot lamp is keeping the current heat source all but off. Smile

Here is a link to (quite a few) pics of the Rep shed- http://www.captivebred.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19065
