Not happy at all.
got a retic from them, doing great now but was covered in mites.
Also got a pair of chams off them, both have disease and respiratory problems (1 died within 2 days, the other isnt doing well at all)

Thats suprising as all their livestock appeared healthy and well cared for whenever I've been there.

Have you been back and spoken to them about these problems as often pet shops of any sort will offer a health guarantee on animals for up to 7 days.

Also I'm led to believe that they're new to stocking herps so if customers don't let tem know when things go wrong they won't learn will they?

ditto the above two posts. I found the place to be one of the cleanest ive visited too with regards to how the herps are kept.

with such a large collection available mites could possibly spread throughout all their herps so would be wise to let them know maybe.

I've been to the shop recently, it does look very impressive with the reptile section growing still more. When we went we asked to look at a rosy boa, when we handled it we immdeiately noticed it was breathing with its mouth open. The guy had a look at it and said it had a deformity and would be withdrawn from sale. what worried me was another assistant protested and said "oh, but it's feeding fine, it should be ok". It didn't look ok to me, we wouldn't have bought the snake in that condition, and I hope they did take it out of the shop. haven't been back since it is a bit out of our way, so I can't say what happened to the boa.
Other than that, the vivs in the shop looked very well set up and clean, and the rest of the stock looked good.

popped in when i was in Sheffield recently. everything looks very clean and cared for, the only thing i could say about it is that the heat lamps aren't guarded and the water monitor, ornate Niles, horned frogs and marine toads didn't have water bowls big enough for them to get in and have a soak, but apart from that was quite impressed

Old thread I know...

Just to say that this used to be my semi-regular, but I shan't be using it again.

Suffice to say, it just confirms my stance against shops stocking WC animals, especially if they cannot even provide adequate temperature ranges for the species in question.

Too late to edit my previous post...

But one has to wonder why a shop would import WC's when they don't even possess quarantine facilities?

I've only been once and thought it looked clean and tidy. I did, however, get the impression that the girl I talked to had no idea.... But that could be an unfair assumption, she could have been really attracted to me and got shy Embarassed

I'll get my coat Laughing
