|
|
I have just bought my first pair of ackies - yellows - they are great, active healthy - happily chasing and gobbling crix. The the in the shop where i bought one, said that it was good to give them tinned dog food. I have to say I am very dubious and would have thought that insects and the occasional pinky would be better. I assume that dog food is pretty poor quality - mostly fat and water. Does anyone else feed tinned pet food to monitors? |

You are right to be dubious. dog food is for dogs. You are quite right with the insect and rodent diet. Stick with well nutritioned whole food items and your ackies will live a long healthy life!
All the best

I agree, don't ever give them dog food.
Mine eat mainly brown crickets with occasional suitable size mice, fuzzies for my adults. _________________ John
